The Role:
Your primary focus will be to grow SMS Machine Automation’s presence within the Industrial Automation sector, working closely with machine and device manufacturers. You’ll be interacting with senior management, supply chain teams, and engineers to deliver automation solutions that add value to their operations.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Meet and exceed monthly and quarterly sales targets.
  • Develop and execute a strategic sales plan for your territory.
  • Weekly Structure: 2 Office Days, 3 Field Days
  • Your role will be to find and follow up on business leads and schedule new business opportunities
  • You will be meeting and demonstrating our products and engineering services to technicians, engineers, managers and directors in order to sell effective solutions
  • Understand customer needs and cultivate strong, lasting relationships.
  • Promote SMS Machine Automation’s value propositions and technical expertise.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities and market segments.
  • Collaborate with our key supplier partners to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of sales activities in our sales system.

Personal Requirements:
  • Degree/ Higher National educated in any discipline but preferably in subject areas of a technical nature or business related where you can demonstrate a technical aptitude and have a desire to develop both technically and commercially.
  • We provide a 4 - 8 week training programme which aims to give you a strong technical understanding of our products and services and an idea of what you will encounter out on the road. However, this is only the start of your continued training and development which will take place throughout your career at SMS Machine Automation Ltd

What We’re Looking For:
While experience in sales and an engineering or technical qualification is preferred, we place a strong emphasis on attitude, drive, and potential.
  • Sales Experience: Advantageous but not essential.
  • Technical Aptitude: Ideal for individuals with a background in technical machines or a keen interest in machines.
  • People Skills: Ability to connect with customers and influence decision-makers.
  • Drive: A passion for achieving results and overcoming challenges.
  • Must be eligible to work in the UK
  • Must have a full driving licence, valid in the UK

Package:
  • Starting Salary - £33,000 to £40,000 dependent upon experience
